Presets - Sun and Sky Lighting Options

Open the Setup Options Dialog:

Lighting Presets

1. Studio - High Dynamic
   Studio lighting uses a High Dynamic Range image (HDRi) to mimic lighting similar to a photographer's studio. This lighting solution illuminates the model from several angles. The result is a rendering with even lighting and subtle shadows. Appropriate for any model, this lighting preset is especially advantageous for rendering individual components such as furniture.
   Other relevant settings:
   • SketchUp on/off
     • Sun is OFF
     • Sky is OFF
   • Sky mode
     • HDRi
     • "Sky illuminates if off" is enabled and ON
     • "Sky Reflected if off" is enabled and ON
   • Ambient Light
     • "Low"
     • "Studio Brightness (lower ambient light)" is ON
   • Use Indirect Lighting (reflected light) is set to "None"

2. Exterior With Sun
   Natural lighting for the rendering is provided by the SketchUp Sun position and the SketchUp Sky.
   Other relevant settings:

   • SketchUp on/off
     • Sun is ON
     • Sky is ON
   • Sky mode
     • "Automatic"
     • "Sky illuminates if off" is disabled
     • "Sky Reflected if off" is disabled
   • Ambient Light
     • "High"
     • "Studio Brightness (lower ambient light)" is OFF
   • Other Settings
     • "Enable Artificial Lighting" is ON
     • "Use Auto Daylight Portals" is OFF
   • Use Indirect Lighting (reflected light) is set to "None"

3. Interior With Sun
   Natural lighting for the rendering is provided by the SketchUp Sun position and the SketchUp Sky.
   Other relevant settings:

   • SketchUp on/off
     • Sun is ON
     • Sky is ON
   • Sky mode
     • "Automatic"
     • Sky illuminates if off is disabled
     • Sky Reflected if off is disabled
   • Ambient Light is set to "Medium"
   • "Studio Brightness (lower ambient light)" is OFF
   • Other Settings
     • Enable Artificial Lighting is ON
     • Use Auto Daylight Portals is ON
   • Use Indirect Lighting (reflected light) is set to "Standard"

4. Interior No Sun
   The SketchUp Sun and Sky are switched off.
   Other relevant settings:

   • SketchUp on/off
     • Sun is OFF
     • Sky is OFF
   • Sky mode
   • Sky illuminates if off is enabled
   • Sky Reflected if off is enabled
   • Ambient Light is set to "Medium"
   • "Studio Brightness (lower ambient light)" is OFF
   • Other Settings
     • Enable Artificial Lighting is ON
     • Use Auto Daylight Portals is OFF
   • Use Indirect Lighting (reflected light) is set to "Standard"

5. HDRi sky + Background
   Lighting is provided by a High Dynamic Range image (HDRi). The specific HDRi is set by default (MtMonadnock_1.hdr)
   Other relevant settings:

   • SketchUp on/off
     • Sun is OFF
     • Sky is ON
   • Sky mode
   • Sky illuminates if off is disabled
   • Sky Reflected if off is disabled
   • Ambient Light is set to "High"
   • "Studio Brightness (lower ambient light)" is OFF
   • Other Settings
     • Enable Artificial Lighting is ON
     • Use Auto Daylight Portals is ON
   • Use Indirect Lighting (reflected light) is set to "Standard"
