Robert Young - was born about 1825. Robert married Jane McDowell in Johnstone, Scotland. Jane was born on 5 Mar 1827 in Johnstone, Renfrewshire ,Scotland. She was the daughter of John McDowell and Henrietta Dalling. She died on 27 Apr 1916 . Jane - Johnstone is in Renfrew County about 10 miles southeast of Glascow. Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  John McDowell Young was born in 1858 in Scotland and died in 1903 and was buried in Oakwoods Cemetery, 67th & Cottage Grove - Chicago, IL . See #2. below.

John McDowell Young - was born in 1858 in Scotland and died in 1903 and was buried in Oakwoods Cemetery, 67th & Cottage Grove - Chicago, IL . He was the son of Robert Young and Jane McDowell. John married Flora Michel on 18 May 1888. Flora was born on 18 May 1867 in Iowa. She was the daughter of Jacob Michel and Louisa Krakow. She died May 1945 and was buried in Oakwoods Cemetery, 67th & Cottage Grove - Chicago, IL . Flora - Flora was one of many children from the Dubuque, Iowa area. Her father, a shoe salesman and later a shoe store owner, was apparently from the Alsace-Lorraine region. Even though the name appears to be of French origin, he considered himself to be from Germany and pronounced the name "Mitchell". Census: 1910 Chicago, Ill 440 No. Normal Parkway Flora M. Young daughter 17 s Ill Scot Iowa   John - Census: I checked the 1900 Census in Chicago for Jno., John M. and John Young and could not locate this John. (ADH 1/2004) Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  Edith Michel "Nonnie" Young was born on 6 Aug 1889 in Chicago, IL and died on 5 Jul 1978 in Whittier, CA and was buried in Cremated in Ashes spread over Pacific Ocean. Edith married Ralph Eaton Lidster on 23 Sep 1912 in Chicago, IL. Ralph was born on 7 Apr 1888 in Chicago, IL. He was the son of Ralph Eustis Lidster and Virginia Eaton. He died on 10 Dec 1946 in Between Chicago and Nashville, TN and was buried in Cremated in Ashes spread in backyard of home at 9221 S. Damen Ave., Chicago, IL. Edith -   Wedding Report Sep 27, 1912   Edith was a devout Christian Scientist. Edith did much with Jean's grandchildren, taking them to many places in Chicago such as museums, conservatories and her beloved Union League Club.   lived at 1812 W. 104th St. in South Chicago, in the 1970, near the Rock Island railroad tracks.   She died of heart failure after experiencing years of declining mental activity, most likely Alzheimher's disease which was not an identifiable disaease at that time. See Lidster family for children. ii.  Jeannie Young Jeannie married Frank Patrick Barry. Frank - have a son - living in California.
