Robert Tower - was born in 1582 in Hingham Parish, Norfolk, England and was buried on 1 May 1634 in Hingham Parish, Norfolk, England. Robert married Dorothy Damon on 31 Aug 1607 in Hingham, England. Dorothy was born in 1590 in Hingham Parish, Norfolk, England. John Tower - was born in Hingham, England and died on 13 Feb 1701/1702 . He was the son of Robert Tower and Dorothy Damon. John married Margaret Ibrook on 16 Feb 1639 in Hingham, Plymouth Co., Mass.. Margaret was born on 3 Sep 1620 in Southwold, Suffolk Co, England. She was the daughter of Richard Ibrook and Margaret Clark. She died on 15 May 1700 in Hingham, Mass. . Margaret - moved to Hingham, Mass with her family about 1635. John - was a planter in Hingham in 1637. Was before the general court in 1640. Moved to Lancaster in 1654. Served in the garrison house in King Phillip's War. Upon his arrival in Hingham he had a grant of three acres of land for a house on Bachelor Street (now Main Street) nearly opposite what is now Water St. His home place is called "The Old TOWER Estate", near Tower's Bridge in Hingham.   In 1645 he was one of seven men "chosen out of the body of the town, as well non-freeman, as freeman," to order the prudential affairs of the town. He was a Farmer, Planter as well as a "Fence Viewer" in 1669.   Much of the TOWER Family information is from "The TOWER Genealogy" by Charlemagne Tower - 1891. from Massachusetts Pioneers - TOWER, TOWERS   John, planter, Hingham, propr. 1637; frm. 13 March, 1638-9. Before Gen. Court 1640 and 1645. He deposed 9 Jan. 1676, ae. about 69 years.   He m. Feb. 13, 1638, Margaret, dau. of Richard Ibrook; she d. 15 May, 1700. Ch. John b. Dec. 13, 1639, Jonathan b. Aug. 1, 1641, Ibrook b. Feb. 1643, Jeremiah b. March 9, 1645-6, Elizabeth b. June 4, 1648, (m. Wm. Roberts,) Sarah b. July 16, 1650, Hannah b. July 17, 1652, (m. David Whipple,) Benjamin b. Nov. 5, 1654, Jemina b. April 25, 1659, Samuel b. Jan. 26, 1661.   He d. 13 Feb. 1701-2. John - married Sarah Hardin in 1669 - 6 children. They lived in Hingham until about 1683, then moved to Braintree. ii.  Jonathan Tower was born in Hingham, Mass.. Jonathan - probably died young. iii.  Ibrook Tower was born in Hingham, Mass. and died on 22 Nov 1731 in Cohassset, Mass. . Ibrook married Margaret Hardin on 24 Apr 1668. Margaret was born in 1647. She died on 19 Nov 1705 in Hingham, MA . (Sources: - 1)   Then Ibrook married Patience Evarts on 6 Aug 1712. Patience was born on 2 May 1695 in Guilford, New Haven, CT. She was the daughter of John Evarts and Sarah Crampton. She died on 24 Apr 1770 in Coventry, Conn. . Patience - - after Benjamin, Patience also married Daniel Hobart and then in 1712, she married Ibrook Tower. Ibrook - Margaret and Ibrook had 12 children   In addition to agricultural pursuits, he was also a cooper. iv.  Jeremiah Tower was born in Hingham, Mass.. Jeremiah - married Elizabeth Goodale in 1670. Was a "weaver" who lived on Main St. in South Hingham. v.  Elizabeth Tower was born on 4 Jun 1648 in Hingham, Mass.. Elizabeth - married William Roberts in 1667. vi.  Sarah Tower was born in Hingham, Mass.. vii.  Hannah Tower was born in Hingham, Mass. and died Nov 1722 . Hannah - married David Whipple in 1677 and went to reside in Cumberland, R.I. They had 7 children. viii.  Benjamin Tower was born on 3 Nov 1654 in Hingham, Mass. and died on 24 Mar 1721/1722 in Hingham, Mass. . See #3. below. ix.  Jemina Tower was born on 25 Apr 1660 in Hingham, Mass.. Jemina - married Thomas Garnet of Hingham in 1705. x.  Samuel Tower was born on 26 Jan 1661/1662 in Hingham, Mass. and died on 21 Mar 1723/1724 in Hingham, Mass. . Samuel - married Silence Damon in 1683, then Deborah Howard in 1703/4. Had 4 sons and 6 daughters. He was a "cooper".

Benjamin Tower - was born on 3 Nov 1654 in Hingham, Mass. and died on 24 Mar 1721/1722 in Hingham, Mass. . He was the son of John Tower and Margaret Ibrook. Benjamin married Deborah Gardner Sep 1680 in Hingham, Mass.. Deborah was born on 5 Jul 1657 in Hingham, Mass.. She was the daughter of John Gardner. She died in 1728 in Hingham, Mass. . Benjamin - was a weaver. He left his tackling and loom to his son Peter when he died, provided Peter paid five shillings per year apiece to his brothers and sisters. Abigail - married a Mr. Hollis. ii.  Ruth Tower was born in Hingham, Mass. and died on 2 Nov 1682 in Hingham, Mass. . iii.  Nathaniel Tower was born on 12 Sep 1683 in Hingham, Mass. and died on 24 Nov 1700 . iv.  Deborah Tower was born on 4 Feb 1684/1685 in Hingham, Mass.. Deborah - married Robert Corthell in Hingham in 1708 - 7 children. v.  Benjamin Tower Jr. was born on 2 Sep 1686 in Hingham, Mass. and died in Scituate, Mass. . See #4. below. vi.  Christian Tower was born on 16 Mar 1687/1688 in Hingham, Mass. and died Oct 1765 in Weymouth, Mass. . Christian - married Samuel Pratt, of Wetmouth in 1716/7 - 5 children. vii.  Sarah Tower was born on 18 Dec 1689 in Hingham, Mass.. Sarah - married Benjamin Whiton in 1716 - 8 children. viii.  Jael Tower was born on 26 Oct 1691 in Hingham, Mass.. Jael - married Richard Stubbs in 1715/6 - 4 children born in Hull, Mass. ix.  Thomas Tower was born on 27 Jun 1693 in Hingham, Mass. and died on 12 Jul 1768 in Hingham, Mass. . Thomas married Elizabeth Woodward on 6 Mar 1717 in Weymouth, Mass.. Elizabeth was born on 23 Aug 1692 in Scituate, Mass.. She was the daughter of Robert Woodward and Bethia Torrey. She died on 13 Apr 1740 . Thomas - married the widow Dorothy Cobb in 1745 after Elizabeth died. She was the widow of Isaac Groce. Thomas was a mariner. x.  Hannah Tower was born on 14 Mar 1694/1695 in Hingham, Mass.. Hannah - married Nathaniel Garnett in Hingham in 1728 - 4 children. xi.  Peter Tower was born on 17 Jul 1797 in Hingham, Mass. and died on 19 Apr 1781 in Hingham, Mass. . Peter - married Ann Tower, the daughter of Samuel Tower and Deborah Howard, in Hingham in 1727/8 - they had 9 children.   They came into possession of the homestead of John Tower, their common grandfather, on which they lived and died. Peter was a weaver and a cooper. xii.  Ambrose Tower Sr. was born on 6 Jan 1699 in Hingham, Mass. and died before 1790 in Concord, Mass . See #5. below.

Benjamin Tower Jr. - was born on 2 Sep 1686 in Hingham, Mass. and died in Scituate, Mass. . He was the son of Benjamin Tower and Deborah Gardner. Benjamin married Margaret.   Then Benjamin married Bethiah Woodward on 6 May 1718 in Scituate, Mass.. Bethiah was born on 5 Dec 1685. She was the daughter of Robert Woodward and Bethia Torrey. She died before 1744 .   Then Benjamin married Abigail Whiton on 21 Sep 1744 in Hingham, Mass.. Benjamin - lived in Weymouth and Scituate Mass. (near Accord Pond). In 1769, John Shaw of Weymouth conveyed to Jonathan Derby, Jr. "a piece of swamp containing half a share, originally granted to Benjamin Tower. Children with Margaret (Quick Family Chart) i.  Jemima Tower was born on 2 Jan 1711 in Weymouth, Mass.. ii.  Benjamin Tower Jr. was born on 14 Jul 1712 in Weymouth, Mass.. Children with Bethiah Woodward (Quick Family Chart) iii.  Deborah Tower was born on 16 Feb 1718/1719 in Mass.. Deborah - married Samuel Hollis of Weymouth in 1735. He was the son of Abigail Tower and Samuel Hollis. They had 4 children. iv.  Bethiah Tower was born on 16 Jan 1720/1721 in Mass.. v.  James Tower was born on 16 Feb 1722/1723 in Mass. and died in 1796 . Ambrose Tower Sr. - was born on 6 Jan 1699 in Hingham, Mass. and died before 1790 in Concord, Mass . He was the son of Benjamin Tower and Deborah Gardner. Ambrose married Mary. Ambrose - moved from Hingham quite early. He was in Hull when his oldest son was born. He afterward moved to Concord, Mass - residing in that part of town which was later made into the town of Lincoln.   Married Mary and had eight children, including Joseph Tower born BEF Sep 1723 in Hull, Massachusetts Death: 1779 in Rutland, Massachusetts   Marriage 1 MARY Children :   Joseph TOWER b: 25 SEP 1723 in Hull, Plymouth, MA   Ambrose TOWER b: 1727 in Hull, Plymouth, MA   Jonathan TOWER b: 1729 in Hull, Plymouth, MA   Mary TOWER b: 1731 in Hull, Plymouth, MA   Elizabeth TOWER b: 1734 in Hull, Plymouth, MA   Benjamin TOWER b: BEF 18 MAR 1738/39 in Hull, Plymouth, MA   Lydia TOWER b: 12 NOV 1742 in Hull, Plymouth, MA   Sarah TOWER b: 1744 in Hull, Plymouth, MA Marriage 2 ELIZABETH (Sources: - 3 - 4) Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  Ambrose Tower Jr was born in 1727 in Hull, Plymouth, MA and died on 1 Apr 1788 in Sudbury, Middlesex, MA . James Tower - was born on 16 Feb 1722/1723 in Mass. and died in 1796 . He was the son of Benjamin Tower Jr. and Bethiah Woodward. James married Mary Day on 16 Jan 1745/1746 in Hingham, Mass.. Mary was chr. on 15 Feb 1729/1730. She is the daughter of James Day and Mary Sherlock. Mary - or Margaret Day   Then James married Lucy Dunbar in 1780 in Hingham, Mass.. Lucy - married 2] Theophilus Corthell or Scituate in 1800 after James died. James - was a soldier in the old French War in 1758 and in the War of the Revolution. He did 13 days duty in 1775 and 2 months in 1776, with additional service in 1779 and 1781. Children with Mary Day (Quick Family Chart) i.  Margaert Tower was born in 1746 in Scituate, Mass. and died on 13 Jun 1777 . Margaert - married Jonathan Hershey in 1766. ii.  Lynde Tower was born in 1749 in Scituate, Mass.. Lynde - married Rebecca Bowker. iii.  Bethia Tower was born in 1752 in Scituate, Mass.. iv.  Matthew Tower was born on 1 Dec 1755 in Scituate, Mass. and died on 3 Mar 1831 in Scituate, Mass. . See #8. below. v.  Benjamin Tower was born on 4 Jul 1755 in Scituate, Mass.. vi.  Deborah Tower was born about 1760 in Scituate, Mass.. Deborah - married John Webb or Weymouth, Mass. in 1786 Children with Lucy Dunbar (Quick Family Chart) vii.  John Tower was born on 19 Oct 1781 and died in 1814 . John - never married. viii.  Polly Tower was born on 11 Oct 1783. ix.  Solomon Tower was born on 25 Oct 1785. x.  David Tower was born on 6 Jul 1788. xi.  Lucy Tower was born on 14 Oct 1791. xii.  Rachel Tower was born on 20 May 1794. Rachel - married Thomas Stoddard of Scituate, Mass. in 1825.

Benjamin Tower - was born before 18 Mar 1738/1739 in Hull, Plymouth, MA and died on 24 Jul 1790 . He was the son of Ambrose Tower Sr.. Benjamin married Ann Vorce on 7 Jan 1761 in Sudbury, Middlesex, MA. Ann was born on 12 Dec 1737 in Sudbury, Middlesex, MA. Matthew Tower - was born on 1 Dec 1755 in Scituate, Mass. and died on 3 Mar 1831 in Scituate, Mass. . He was the son of James Tower and Mary Day. Matthew married Jerusha Hatch on 1 Jun 1782 in Marshfield, Mass.. Jerusha was born about 1756. She died after 1838 . Jerusha - was from Marshfield. Matthew - was a shipwright by trade. He was a soldier in the War of the Revolution in 1775 and again in 1778. Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  Benjamin Hatch Tower was born on 30 Mar 1783 and died in 1807 . Benjamin - graduated Harvard College in 1806. ii.  Jerusha Tower was born on 11 Feb 1786. Jerusha married Samuel Eells on 2 Sep 1805 in Scituate, Plymouth Co., Mass.. Samuel was born on 13 Mar 1783 in Hannover, Plymouth, Mass.. He is the son of Capt. Robert Lenthal Eells and Ruth Copeland. See Eells family for children. iii.  Nancy Tower was born on 11 May 1788. iv.  Betsey Tower was born on 3 Aug 1790 and died on 3 Jan 1876 in South Scituate, Mass. . Betsey - married 1) Isaac Whittemore in Scituate in 1811. They had 1 child. After Isaac died, the married 2( Ebenezer T. Fogg of Scituate in 1820. They had 6 children. v.  Horace Tower was born on 20 Feb 1793 and died in 1820 in at sea . Horace - , an enterprising and intelligent young man was lost at sea in 1820. He was mate of a ship from Salem. George Hodges was the master.
