He was the son of Richard Toothill.
Symon married Isabel Wells. Isabel was born in 1565 in Ringstead Northampton England. She was the daughter of John Wells. She died in 1606 . (Sources: - 1) Symon - Simon was a soldier under Capt Nicoles Jul 30, 1588 (year of the Spanish Armada). Simon was listed a freeholder (of land) at Ringstead 1604/5. In 1608, he was charged 4 shillings for expenses of musters. His will written Dec 19, 1627, describes him as a yeoman. He mentions eldest son Richard, youngest son William, 2nd son John, Isabell his wife, and his children's grandfather John Wells and son Thomas Deceased. (Sources: - 1)

William Tuttle - was born on 26 Dec 1607 in Ringstead Northampton England and died on 16 Jun 1673 in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut .
He was the son of Symon Tuttle and Isabel Wells.
William married Elizabeth Southcutt on 1 Jan 1626/1627 in Northamptonshire, , , England. Then William married Elizabeth Matthews in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut. Elizabeth was born in 1609 in Exeter, Devonshire, England. She was the daughter of Edward Matthews and Elizabeth Nasche. She died on 30 Dec 1684 . Elizabeth - She joined the church at Boston 14 Aug 1636. Then was dismissed to the church in Ipswich 8 Sept 1639 and they were there for a time. (Sources: - 1) William - Came to Boston in the 'Planter' in April 1635, at age 26 with his wife Elizabeth 23, and children John, Ann, and Thomas. He is by tradition said to have come from Co. Northampton. His wife joined the church 24 July 1636 and brought Jonathan and David to be babtized. Source says three families of this name came from the parish of St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England. He was granted liberty to build a windmill at Charlestown in 1636 and was a proprietor of that town. He was part owner of a ketch "Zebulon" of Ipswich. He and John own land deeded them by George Griggs for debt, and the same gave him a mortgage of house and land on Beacon St. in Boston after he moved to New Haven in 1650. They were among the first settlers at Stoney River, about the year 1645. (Sources: - 1)
