Selectman 1647; surveyor of highways 1654 and 1662; chimney viewer 1659.   an original proprietor of Hartford; his home–lot in 1639 was on the south side of “the road from George Steele’s to the South Meadow,” and adjoining George Steele’s lot on the west.
