John FitzAlan - was born about 1160 in Arundel, Sussex, England and died Mar 1240 .
He was the son of William FitzAlan and Isabel de Say.
John married Isabella D'Aubigny. She is the daughter of Hugh D'Aubigny. John - acquired the Arundel Castle and Honour of Arundel. The Fitzalan's were to hold the castle in an almost uninterrupted line until 1555 when Mary Fitzalan, last of the family, married Thomas, 4th Duke of Norfolk, thereby carrying Arundel into the Howard family where it remains to this day.

Earl Richard FitzAlan - was born on 3 Feb 1267 in Arundel, Sussex, England and died on 9 Mar 1302 .
He was the son of John FitzAlan II and Isabella de Mortimer.
Earl Richard married Alisona de Saluzza in 1284 in Marlborough, Sussex, England. Alisona was born about 1271 in Arundel, Sussex, England. She was the daughter of Thomas de Saluzza and Luegia de Ceva. She died on 25 Sep 1292 . Earl Richard - - Earl of Arundel. John Fitzalan died in 1272 and Arundel passed to his five year old son, Richard. In 1285 King Edward I granted the right to hold two fairs a year at Arundel and to tax the goods there. This created additional much needed cash to renovate the castle and buildings, as many had fallen into disrepair through neglect or lack of money. In 1289 Richard was created Earl of Arundel by 'Longshanks' and the two became good friends. Richard fought with the King against the Scots and he is described on the Rolls of the Siege of Caerlaverock in 1300: was beheaded after getting caught up in the rebellion against Edward II. He was caught by Queen Isabella's lover, Mortimer and executed without trial in Hereford. Arundel passed to the Earl of Kent, 6th son of Edward I, but he was also beheaded when the Arundel Castle was returned to the Fitzalans 4 years later.

Earl Edmund Fitzalan - was born on 1 May 1273 in Marlborough Castle, Sussex, England and died on 17 Nov 1326 in Herefordshire, England .
He was the son of Earl Richard FitzAlan and Alisona de Saluzza.
Earl Edmund married Alice de Warren in 1305 in Arundel, Sussex, England. Alice was born about 1277 in Warren, Sussex, England. She was the daughter of William de Warren and Joan de Vere. She died before 23 May 1338 . Earl Edmund - - Earl of Arundel. Had 9 children. Was beheaded.

Richard "Cropped Hat" Fitzalan - was born about 1313, lived in Arundel, Sussex, England and died on 24 Jan 1375/1376 in Arundel, Sussex, England .
He was the son of Earl Edmund Fitzalan and Alice de Warren.
Richard married Eleanor Plantagenet. Eleanor was born about 1311 in Grismond Castle, Monmouthshire, England. She was the daughter of Henry "Tortcol" Plantagenet and Maud de Chaworth. She died on 11 Jan 1372 in Arundel, Sussex, England . Then Richard married Isabel Le Despencer on 9 Feb 1320/1321 in Kings Chapel, Havering-Atte-Bower, Essex, England. Isabel was born about 1312 in Gloucestershire, England. Richard - was the Earl of Surry, University of Hull, Tompsett. He was the third Earl of Arundel and Warenne; Ninth Earl of Surrey. On December 4,1344 he obtained a Papal mandate for the annulment of his marriage to Isabel on the ground of his minority (about 8 at the time of the marriage) and that he had never consented to the marriage. TheComplete Peerage discusses this and states "...Obviously what really happened was this. The powerful Earl desired to get rid of the woman to whom he had been married as a child, and who, since her father's attainder and execution, had ceased to be of any importance, that he might marry the woman with whom he was then living in adultery; and the Pope very obligingly annulled the marriage and bastardised the issue." He was the son of Richard "Cropped Hat" Fitzalan and Eleanor Plantagenet.
Richard married Elizabeth de Bohun on 28 Sep 1359 in Derbyshire, Lincoln. Elizabeth was born about 1335 in Derbyshire, Lincon. She was the daughter of William de Bohun and Elizabeth de Badlesmere. She died on 3 Apr 1385 . Richard - 11the Earl of Arundel and Earl of Surrrey. Was beheaded at Cheapside in London.
