Philipp - According to family records at church in Bavaria, the Schmitts were originally from the Rhineland - coming to Bavaria in the late 1700's or ealry 1800's. Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  Philipp Schmitt Jr. was born on 24 Jul 1854 in Hauxhausen, Bavaria and died Sep 1941 in Russell, KS and was buried in Lutheran Cemetery, Russell, KS . Philipp Schmitt Jr. - was born on 24 Jul 1854 in Hauxhausen, Bavaria and died Sep 1941 in Russell, KS and was buried in Lutheran Cemetery, Russell, KS . He was the son of Philipp Schmitt Sr. and Dorthea Walter. Philipp married Mary Wolf on 11 Jul 1881 in Russell, KS. Philipp - Immigrated to America on same ship with Marie's parents and married Marie nine days after arriving. They had 11 children. Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  Frank Nicholas Schmitt was born on 21 May 1896 in Gorham, KS and died on 13 Sep 1974 in Sebastopol, Sonoma, CA and was buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Santa Rosa, CA . Frank Nicholas Schmitt - was born on 21 May 1896 in Gorham, KS and died on 13 Sep 1974 in Sebastopol, Sonoma, CA and was buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Santa Rosa, CA . He was the son of Philipp Schmitt Jr. and Mary Wolf. Frank married Bessie Evelyn Sprague on 27 Nov 1919 in Salina, KS. Bessie was born on 17 Dec 1895. She was the daughter of Edwin Rutherford Sprague and Rosa Francis Ziebel. She died on 13 Jan 1987 in Santa Rosa, Sonoma, CA . Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  Bernice Evelyn Schmitt was born on 11 Aug 1924 in Collyer, KS. Bernice married Orville Duwain Crowell on 17 Aug 1948 in Tonopah, NV. Orville was born on 2 Jul 1910 in Bessemer, MI. He was the son of William Edgar Crowell and Lillie Eva Jones. He died on 15 Nov 1987 in Santa Rosa, Sonoma, CA and was buried on 18 Nov 1987 in Santa Rosa Memorial Cemetery, CA. Bernice -   After graduation I met and married Orville Crowell who was a career Officer in the USAF. We moved to Santa Rosa, CA. when he retired after 22 years of service. We raised our two daughters there and moved to the country with our horses.   After his death in 1987, I moved to Folsom, CA. to be near my youngest daughter, Pamela. I gave up home ownership in 2002 opting instead for an apartment which I thoroughly enjoy. I have two grandsons who keep in touch and vist me regularly. Since I am only 15 miles east of Sacramento I have access to plays and the city life, if I choose. Most of my time is spent in Folsom with my friends, family and my companion, a Jack Russell terrier.   (Trego Community High School Reunion page, Wakenney Kansas,.
