Lt. Stephen Post - was born in 1596 in Chelmsford, England and died on 16 Aug 1659 in Saybrook, CT . He was the son of Abraham Post and Ann Hunter. Lt. Stephen married Eleanore Panton on 17 Oct 1625 in Hollingbourne, Kent, England. Eleanore was born in Chelmsford, England. She died on 13 Nov 1670 in Saybrook, CT . Lt. Stephen - and Eleanore came to America in the ship "Griffin" arriving in Boston on September 4, 1633. Stephen was a carpenter. He lived at Otham, Kent, England, where most of his children were born. He was a follower and adjerent of the Rev. Thomas Hooker.   His name appears on the monument as one of the founders of Hartford, CT. He migrated first to Newtowne (Cambridge), MA in 1634, then joined Rev. Hooker's group at Hartford, CT, then to Saybrook, CT, where he purchased his first land in Oyster Rever in 1648. John married Hester Hyde on 31 Mar 1652/1653 in Saybrook, CT. Hester was born about 1625 in England. She was the daughter of William Hyde. She died on 13 Nov 1703 in Norwich, CT . John - was in Hartford by 1636; to Saybrook 1649; to Norwich 1660. An original proprietor of Norwich; accepted freeman 1663, townsman 1674. Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  Margaret Post was born on 21 Feb 1653 in Middlesex, Ct and died Nov 1700 in Norwich, Ct . Margaret married Sergt. Caleb Abell Jul 1669 in Norwich, MA. Sergt. Caleb was born in 1646 in Rehobeth, Ma. He was the son of Robert Abel. He died on 17 Aug 1731 in Norwich, Ct . See Abell family for children. ii.  Mary Post was born Jun 1669 in Norwich, New London, Ct and died Nov 1705 in Norwich, New London, Ct . Mary married Nathaniel Rudd.
