John McDowell - was born about 1796 and died on 14 May 1857 . John married Henrietta Dalling on 4 Dec 1815 in Johnstone, Renfrewshire, Scotland. Henrietta was born about 1795. She died on 23 Apr 1847 . John - Occupation - Machinist. Provost of Johnstone. Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  Jane McDowell was born on 5 Mar 1827 in Johnstone, Renfrewshire ,Scotland and died on 27 Apr 1916 . Jane married Robert Young in Johnstone, Scotland. Robert was born about 1825. Jane - Johnstone is in Renfrew County about 10 miles southeast of Glascow. See Young family for children.
