Francis married Mary Hill about 1591 in St. Peter's Church - Tichfield. Mary was born in 1564 in Exeter, Devon, England. She died on 29 Oct 1605 in Tichfield, Hampshire, England . Francis - occupation: Clothier - Francis was a clothier by trade and left a sizeable estate. His will asked that he be buried in the parish churchyard of Titchfield. - Francis Littlefield listed 3 siblings (2 brothers and 1 sister) in his will.

Edmund Littlefield - was born about 1592 in Tichfield, Hampshire, England and died on 11 Dec 1661 in Wells,ME .
He was the son of Francis Littlefield and Mary Hill.
Edmund married Annis (Agnes) Austin on 16 Oct 1614 in Titchfield, Hampshire, England. Annis was born on 1 Feb 1596 in Exeter, Devon, England. She is the daughter of Richard Austin. She was buried on 12 Dec 1677 in Exeter, Devon, England Annis - "Joseph had a sister Annis who mar. Edmund Littlefield, who came to New England in 1638. Francis of Dedham and Matthew of Maine are thought by some authorities to be brothers of Joseph. It is thought by some that Richard of Charlestown might have been another brother but proof is lacking. ( Moore, Edith Austin A Genealogy of the Descendants of Robert Austin of Kingstown, Rhode Island. 1951. pg. 10.)
Edmund - occupation: Clothier - Thomas and Anne (2b) were twins Edmund Littlefield, the father of Wells, established a permanent home, sawmill and gristmill as early as 1640-41 at the falls of the Webhannet River. He was agent of Thomas Gorges to give possession of house lots to settlers, and was one of the committee for settling the boundary between Wells and Cape Porpois, and a commissioner to try small causes from 1654 to 1661. On Dec. 11, 1661 he made his will at Wells, ME. (from Austin Families of America)
Came to New England in abt 1636, probably with his two eldest sons. His wife and six children followed on the Bevis in May of 1638, with servants John Knight and Hugh Durdal. His name appears on a paper for the purpose of government in Exeter, NH, signed on 5 Jun 1639. he was granted 21 acres of land there. He moved to Wells, ME around 1640/41. There is a plaque in Wells, ME stating that his saw and gristmill were the first permanent structures in the town. The plaque is next to the Webhannet Falls on the site of his mill. On 14 July 1643, he was granted 100 acres adjacent to the mill and the neck of the marsh between that and Webhannet River. In Nov 1645, he and John Wadleigh were granted 200 acres on Southwest side of the Ogunquit River, not intrenching on town of Wells.

Francis Littlefield - was born on 17 Jun 1619 in Tichfield, Hampshire, England and died in 1712 in prob. Dover, NH .
He was the son of Edmund Littlefield and Annis (Agnes) Austin.
Francis married Jane Hill about 1646 in Woburn, Mass. She is the daughter of Ralph Hill and Elizabeth Parker. Then Francis married Rebecca Rust on 27 Apr 1648 in Wells, ME. Then Francis married Mary Wade before 1689 in Wells,ME. Francis - Francis , the oldest son , has a percular history. At about the age of 7 or 8 he disappeared from his father's house. That he was born about 1619 is supported by the fact that that he was required to sign the submission to Massachusetts in 1653. This Francis did not come over with his mother on the Belvis. (Source: History of Wells and Kennebunk pg 73-74) (From Noyes, Libby & Davis; Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hampshire; p.438): The oft-told story of his separation from his family was the imagining of some one trying to account for two brothers of the same name, and not unlikely he accompanied his father here, but moved around before settling in Wells, where (he was) granted 50 acres by orges in 1643.

Francis (2) Littlefield - was born about 1631 and died before 6 Feb 1674/1675 in Wells, York Co., Maine .
He was the son of Edmund Littlefield and Annis (Agnes) Austin.
Francis married Meribah Wardwell. Meribah was born on 14 May 1637 in Boston, Suffolk Co., MA. She died after 1710 in Wells, York Co., Maine . Meribah - In 1710 on petition of Jonathan and David that their mother Mrs. Meribah Littlefield was liable to be chargeable to them beyond their proportion, her children and grandchildren were ordered to support her although only sons and sons-in-law named specifically in the order. (Her date of death has been given as 12 December 1679, but this is obviously in error.) (from D. B. Robinson's Genealogy Page) (Sources: - 3) Francis - His brother, Francis, disappeared from his father;s house and was mourned for dead, so this Francis was given the same name when he was born. Occupation: House-carpenter Note: His will is dated 5 Feb. (He d. 6 Feb.) 1674/5 and names wife Meribah, daughter of Wm. Wardwell, and sons Joseph and Nathan executors. The inventory included his sawmill and cornmill.
