Constance married Nicholas Snow on 22 May 1627 in Plymouth, Plymouth, Massachusetts. Nicholas was born in 1599 in Saint Leonard's Shoreditch, London, Middlesex, England. He was the son of Nicholas Snow. He died on 15 Nov 1676 in Eastham, Barnstable, Massachusets . John Hopkins - was born in 1613 in St. Stephens, London, England and died in 1654 in Hartford, Hartford, Conn. . He was the son of Stephen Hopkins and Constance Dudley. John - arrived in America 4 Aug 1634.   Inventory of Estate: 14 Apr 1654, Hartford, Hartford Co., CT Timothy Hopkins. 1948   "Stephen Hopkins of the Mayflower* and Some of His Descendants." New England Historical and Genealogical Register 102(1): 46-60. On p. 46, an editorial footnote to the title of the article:   I have no reason to believe that John Hopkins of Hartford was related to Stephen of the Mayflower. I have seen statements that he was the son of Stephen; but as Stephen does not mention him in his will and Bradford makes no reference to such a son of Stephen and no one has found any authority which is based upon any fact, I do not think that any faith can be placed in such statements. (Letter of T.H., 28 April 1908.)   Some believe John's wife is Jane STRONG, but there is no proof. Ruth married John Cole on 12 Dec 1666 in Eastham, Barnstable Co., MA.. John was born on 15 Jul 1644 in Yarmouth, Barnstable, MA.. He died on 6 Jan 1725 in Eastham, Barnstable Co., MA. . John - John Cole was a useful citizen and a lieutenant in the militia. He hadbeen at Groton in 1672, but probably returned, driven out by Indians, ashe is on the freeman list in Eastham of 1695. Constance Snow - was born in 1646 in Eastham, MA. and died in Unknown in Eastham, MA. . She was the daughter of Nicholas Snow and Constance Hopkins. Constance married Daniel Doane in 1666 in Eastham, MA.. Daniel was born in 1635 in Plymouth, Massachussets. He died on 20 Dec 1712 in Eastham, MA. . Constance - The Doane Family, Vol. 2, Third Ed., 1976   Daniel Dona's marriages are not recorded in Eastham records. His 1st wife is believed by some genealogists to have been Constance Snow, daughter of Nicholas and Constance Hopkins, but no documentary evidence has been found. The assumption is based upon the names of two of his children: Constant (a son) and Constance (a daughter). The Society of Mayflower descendants has not accepted this assumption.   New England Historical and Genealogical Register, Vol 127 (1973) p. 102   Gilbert H. Doane, Editor Emeritus of the Register has called our attention to the erroneous statement in the first installment of the above article that Joseph Doane, husband of Mary Godfrey was a son of Hepzibah Cole Crisp Doan (The Register 126:136). The mother of Joseph Doane, son of Daniel, was Daniel's first wife, identity uncertain but presumed to have been Constant or Constance, daughter of Nicholand and Constance (Hopkins) Snow. Daniel Doane did not marry Mepsibah (Cole) Crisp until after 28 July 1682, when her first husband George Crisp died. George Crisp named her in his Will and made her executrix asking brother Israel Cole and his neighbor Goodman Daniel Doane "to be helpful to my wife as overseers." She was living 9 Oct 1712 when Daniel Doane called her "loving wife Hepsibah in his Will (See A.A. Doane, the Doane Family, 1902, pp. 26-30). The authority for nameing Constant Snow as the first wife of Daniel Doane appears to be a notebook on Eastham families kept by Josiah Paine, for half a century Town Clerk of Harwich. The notebook is now in the possession of the Eastham Public Library. Mr. Paine did not cite the sources of his information unless it came from individuals, so it may be assumed that he found some evidence for his statement; however no one has discovered where he found it. It should be noted that the Mayflower Society does not accept lines of descent through the first wife of Daniel Doane.   History and Genealogy of the Mayflower Planters and First Comers to Ye Olde Colonie by Leon Clark Hills, Cape Code Series, Vol II, p.51-52 - Dr. Daniel Doane b Plymouth 1636; d Eastham Dec 20, 1712; m. 1s ( ); m 2nd Hepsibah (Cole) Crisp. He was the first physcian of Estham and practices the profession as long as health permitted. He accumulated considerable lands. Most of the acreage was near Orleans. He made a Will dated Sept 11, 1711 and proved Oct 9, 1712. Children: Daniel b. 1666 d. Sept 1, 1743 m. 1st Mehitable Twining; m 2nd Mary Yates   Josiah Paine town clerk & historian of Harwich wrote that Nicholas & Constance Snow had a daughter named for her mother who was the Ist wife of Daniel Doane of Eastham   BIRTH: Doane Family Association of America, "Doane" Vol. II, pg. 2; Geneneral Society of Mayflower Descendants, "MFIP Stephen Hopkins" pp 4-5 states "Josiah Paine, town clerk and historian of Harwich, wrote that Nicholas and Constance had a daughter named for her mother who was first wife of Daniel Doane of Eastham". Volume I Snow Nicholas Snow , immigrant ancestor, was born in England . He came to New Plymouth in the ship, "Ann," in 1623 , and had a share in the division of land in Plymouth in 1624 . He settled in Eastham in 1634 and became a prominent citizen. His home was on the road from Plymouth to Eel river on the westerly side. He was admitted a freeman in 1633 , and was elected town clerk at the first meeting of the town of Eastham , holding that office sixteen years. He was deputy to the general court from 1648 for three years, selectman from 1663 for seven years. He and his son Mark signed the call to Rev. John Mayo to settle as their minister in 1655 . Nicholas Snow was one of Governor Prence 's associates. He died at Eastham , November 15, 1676 . He married, at Plymouth , Constance , daughter of Stephen Hopkins , who came in the "Mayflower." All the descendants of Nicholas and Constance Snow are eligible to the Mayflower Society. Constance herself came on the "Mayflower." She died in October, 1677 . Mary was born in 1670. She was the daughter of Deacon Samuel Butler and Elizabeth Olmstead. She died on 17 May 1774 in Waterbury, CT . Susannah was born on 20 Nov 1704 in Wallington, CT. She is the daughter of Capt. Daniel Messenger and Lydia Royce. Ebenezer - in 1770 moved to Pittsford, VT; officer in Harwinton & Pittsford, VT (Litchfield Co.) Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  Tabitha Hopkins was born on 7 Oct 1745 in Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT. Tabitha married Dr. Abiather Millard on 30 Sep 1760/1761 in Amenia, NY.
