Abraham Gooding - also known as: Abram - was born about 1730 in Bucks Co., Pa and died Oct 1793 in Fleming Co., KY . Abraham married Elizabeth Randall in 1768 in Virginia. Elizabeth was born on 12 Jul 1732 in Wythe Co., VA. She was the daughter of George M Randall and Mary Comley. She died on 29 Sep 1795 in Fleming Co., KY . (Sources: - 1) Abraham - One source (Sbeireis@pcisys,.net) list the following children:   1..Cornelius Gooding 2.Mary (Polly) Gooding 3.Joseph Gooding 4.Richard Gooding 5.John Gooding 6.James Gooding 7.Jane Gooding 8.David Gooding 9.Abraham Gooding 10.Elizabeth Gooding 11.Isaac Gooding 12.Samuel Gooding   Abraham's name first appears in recorded history in the year 1761 in Augusta County, Virginia when he witnessed a land transfer from Michael and Catherine Finney to Samuel Moore. (Sources: - 2) Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  Mary "Polly" Gooding was born on 12 Feb 1770 in Wythe County, Virginia and died on 16 Sep 1817 in Flemming County, Kentucky . Mary married William Crystal. William was born in 1765 in Va. He died in 1834 in Flemming County, Kentucky . (Sources: - 1) ii.  John Gooding was born on 19 Mar 1772 and died on 8 Apr 1814 . John married Frances Lemon Brown on 28 Jun 1800. Frances was born on 23 Aug 1780. She died on 18 Aug 1853 . John - (information provided by Barbara Spradlin - Sep 2005) iii.  Abram Gooding was born on 16 Mar 1784 in Montgomery, Va and died on 5 Dec 1818 in Fleming Co., KY . Abram Gooding - was born on 16 Mar 1784 in Montgomery, Va and died on 5 Dec 1818 in Fleming Co., KY . He was the son of Abraham Gooding and Elizabeth Randall. Abram married Louisa Addison on 13 Oct 1814 in Fleming Co., KY. She died in Virginia . Louisa - (We earlier had his wife as Ameila Hennis. I'm not sure where tha reference came from. The History of McClean County, Illinois lists his wife as Louisa Addison. Familysearch.org has a record for an Amelia Hennis (b. 1793, Fleming Co., KY) who m. 13 Oct 1814 (in Fleming Co., KY) Abraham Gooding (b. 16 Mar 1784, Bucks Co., PA; d. 5 Dec 1818, Fleming Co., KY).   The Historical Encyclopedia of Illinois, page 1269 says: "Louisa Gooding, the maternal grandmother, was a daughter of Abram Gooding, a native of Virgina, who came to Maysville, Ky., where he spent his last days with his wife (Louisa Addison), dying in Virginia" (Sources: - 3 (page 1269) ) Abram - Census: 1820 - Fleming Co., Ky Males (Under 10) (10-15) (10-26) (15-25) (26-44) (45-over) 1 0 0 0 1 0   Feales (Under 10) (10-15) (15-25) (26-44) (45-over)   3 0 1 0 1       In May 1851, with Jacob Overley, was elected Justice of the Peace in the Flemingsburg district, the first under the new constitution.   He spent his last days, in Maysville, Ky., with his wife, Louisa Addison, dying in Virginia. (History of McClean County, Illinois) (Sources: - 3 (pg 1269) ) Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  Louise Gooding was born about 1810 in Kentucky and died about 1846 in Peoria Co., Ill. . Louise married Amaziah Hart on 8 Jun 1826 in Fleming Co., Ky.. Amaziah was born about 1805 in Kentucky. He was the son of David Hart and Hannah Jones. He died Oct 1847 in Illinois . Louise - Louise Gooding's sister, Sarah, married Fleming Norwood. This linked the Hart and Norwood families in Fleming Co. Ky, and Peoria Co., Ill. See Hart family for children. ii.  Sarah Gooding was born in 1818/1819 and died before 1903 . Sarah married Flemming Norwood about 1838. Flemming was born on 24 Feb 1816 in Kentucky. He was the son of James Norwood. He died on 16 May 1903 in Glasford, Peoria Co., Illinois . Sarah - Sarah Gooding's sister, Louise, married Amaziah Hart. This linked the Hart and Norwood families in Fleming Co. Ky, and Peoria Co., Ill. See Norwood family for children.

Samuel Gooding - was born on 22 Jan 1791 in Virginia and died on 5 Dec 1853 in Fleming Co., KY . He was the son of Abraham Gooding and Elizabeth Randall. Samuel married Margaret "Peggy" Hinton on 8 Nov 1810 in Fleming Co., KY. Margaret was born Apr 1795. She died on 24 Jun 1863 in Fleming Co., KY . Lenox married Martha Callahan on 11 Sep 1851 in Fleming, Ky. Lenox -   A Lenox Gooding married Martha Callahan in Fleming Co', KY Sep 11, 1851. World Connect posting Oct 2007   The Lenox Gooding that married Martha Callahan moved from Fleming Co. Ky to Madison Co. Ind. he was my great great grandfather, (father of Margaret Gooding who married Isaac Bronnenberg in Madison Co. Ind.) I have their picture as well as Margaret & Isaac. Myself and a cousin, Tina Weismiller have been working on the Gooding-Bronnenberg Family. I own the Gooding-Bronnenberg Bible dated 1860 which has as the first entry, the birth of Samuel Gooding and his wife and that of Lenox and his wife, down to my grandmother Sarah Bronnenberg Benefiel.
