William Farrar - was born in 1550 in Farengdon, Halifax, York, England and died on 11 Jun 1606 in Heptonstall, Halifax, Yorkshire, England . William married Margaret Bannister on 12 Dec 1575 in Halifax, Yorkshire, England. Margaret was born in 1554 in Hathenshelf, England. She was the daughter of George Bannister. She died on 2 Sep 1624 . Jacob Farrar - was born in 1584 in Sowerby, Halifax, York and died on 2 May 1639 in Sowerby, Halifax, York . He was the son of William Farrar and Margaret Bannister. Jacob married Mary Houghton on 21 Apr 1609 in Heptonstall, Halifax, Yorkshire, England. Mary was born in 1588 in Halifax, Yorkshire, England. She was the daughter of Henry Houghton. She died on 31 Mar 1639 in Sowerby, Halifax, York . Jacob Farrar - was born in 1614 in Heptonstall, Halifax, Yorkshire, England and died on 14 Aug 1687 in Woburn, MA . He was the son of Jacob Farrar and Mary Houghton. Jacob married Ann. Ann - married John Sears of Woburn in 1680, after Jacob died. She was his third wife.   Then Jacob married Grace Dean. Jacob - came from Lancashire, one of the incorporators of Lancaster, Massachusetts, 1653. He had four children whom he left in England with their mother until he had made a home for them in Lancaster. During King Philip's War 1675-76 two of his sons were killed and after the massacre by the Indians in the latter year, he, with his wife, son and daughter and her husband went to Woburn where he passed the brief remainder of his life. Children with Ann (Quick Family Chart) i.  John Farrar was born in 1643 in Lancashire, England and died on 22 Aug 1675 . John - married a Mary in 1667. He must have died before 1677 as no notice is taken of he or his children in the distribution of his father's estate. Children with Grace Dean (Quick Family Chart) ii.  Jacob Farrar was born on 3 Sep 1641 in Halkifax, England and died on 22 Aug 1675 in Lancaster, MA . See #4. below.

Jacob Farrar - was born on 3 Sep 1641 in Halkifax, England and died on 22 Aug 1675 in Lancaster, MA . He was the son of Jacob Farrar and Grace Dean. Jacob married Hannah Hayward in 1668. Hannah was born about 1650. She is the daughter of George Hayward. Hannah - married Adam Holaway in 1681 after the death of Jacob, and later Jonathan Furbush. Jacob - came to Lancaster, Mass. with his mother and family about 1658. He was killed by Indians in King Phillips War.   Soon after his death, Ann and the children went to Concord, Mass. where her relations lived and where the children were brought up. Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  Jacob Farrar was born on 29 Apr 1669 and died on 29 Apr 1722 in Concord, Mass. . See #5. below. ii.  George Farrar was born on 16 Aug 1670 and died on 15 May 1760 . George - married Mary Howe in 1692. He was a man of great energy and thrift. They had 5 children. Settled in Concord, Mass. iii.  John Farrar was born in 1672 and died on 19 Aug 1707 in Sterling, Mass. . John - married Elizabeth Merriam in 1699. He was killed in battle by Indians at Sterling. They had two children. iv.  Henry Farrar was born in 1674.

Jacob Farrar - was born on 29 Apr 1669 and died on 29 Apr 1722 in Concord, Mass. . He was the son of Jacob Farrar and Hannah Hayward. Jacob married Susanna Rediate on 26 Dec 1692 in Concord, Mass.. She died Mar 1737/1738 . Jacob - was six when his father was killed, and 7 when his grandfather died. He chose Edward Wrigley, of Concord, for his guardian. After his marriage he settled in the northern part of Concord where several generations of his descendants resided.   He was styled "Cornet" during his lifetime, and in the record of his death. He left a large family and a respectable character and property. All the children are mentioned in the distribution of his estate, except Ephraim. Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  Jacob Farrar was born on 23 Oct 1693 in Concord, Mass. and died on 8 May 1725 in Freyburg, Me. . See #6. below. ii.  Mary Farrar was born on 8 Mar 1696 in Concord, Mass.. Mary married David Melvin on 8 Feb 1716 in Concord, Mass.. David was born on 29 Oct 1690 in Charlestown, Mass.. He was the son of John Melvin and Hannah Lewis. He died on 17 Nov 1745 . Mary - after David died, she married John Edwards of Acton, the town adjoining Concord, in 1749. See Melvin family for children. iii.  Jonathan Farrar was born on 21 Sep 1698 in Concord, Mass. and died on 4 Oct 1783 . Jonathan - married a Rebecca. They had 8 children. iv.  David Farrar was born on 7 Jul 1700 in Concord, Mass.. v.  Susanna Farrar was born on 11 Nov 1701 in Concord, Mass.. Susanna - married James Russell in 1722. vi.  Henry Farrar was born on 8 Nov 1703 in Concord, Mass.. vii.  Hannah Farrar was born on 11 Sep 1705 in Concord, Mass.. Hannah - married David Proctor in 1730. viii.  John Farrar was born on 14 Sep 1707 in Concord, Mass.. ix.  Nathan Farrar was born on 20 Feb 1709 in Concord, Mass.. x.  Ephraim Farrar was born on 8 Jul 1710 in Concord, Mass. and died on 23 Dec 1721 . xi.  Timothy Farrar was born on 15 Mar 1714 in Concord, Mass.. Timothy - married Jersuha and moved to Acton. He was inn holder there on the place where the first tavern stands on the County road between Concord and Groton.

Jacob Farrar - was born on 23 Oct 1693 in Concord, Mass. and died on 8 May 1725 in Freyburg, Me. . He was the son of Jacob Farrar and Susanna Rediate. Jacob married Sarah Wood in 1714. Sarah was born on 15 Feb 1692/1693 in Falmouth, Essex, MA. She was the daughter of Josiah Wood and Mary Felt. She died on 13 Sep 1781 in Concord, Middlesex, MA . Sarah - married David Parlin after Jacob died. (Sources: - 1) Jacob - was killed in the famous Indian battle called Lovell's Fight, near Freyburg, Me. Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  Sarah Farrar was born on 19 Jan 1715/1716. Sarah - married John Conant of Townsend in 1735/6 ii.  Mary Farrar was born on 22 Oct 1717 in Concord, Mass.. Mary - married Abishai Brown in 1735. iii.  Hannah Farrar was born on 22 Apr 1720 in Concord, Mass.. Hannah - married Thomas Wheeler in 1738. iv.  Jacob Farrar was born on 8 Oct 1722 in Concord, Mass. and died on 20 Dec 1787 in Concord, Mass. . Jacob married Mary Merriam on 8 May 1746 in Concord, Mass.. Jacob - lived on the original homestead of his grandfather in the north part of Concord. Jacob Farrar - was born on 15 Feb 1750 in Concord, Mass. and died on 8 Mar 1820 in Concord, Mass. . He was the son of Jacob Farrar and Mary Merriam. Jacob married Elizabeth Haywood. She died on 15 May 1796 . Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  Jacob Farrar was born on 6 Nov 1782 in Concord, Mass.. Jacob - married Achsah Fisk and had a son named Jacob Farrar, continuing the succession of Jacobs. ii.  John Farrar was born on 13 Apr 1784 in Concord, Mass.. John - married Calle Stearns. iii.  Betsy Farrar was born in 1787 in Concord, Mass. and died in 1869 . Betsy married Charles Melvin on 11 Dec 1814 in Concord, Mass.. Charles was born on 4 Nov 1784 in Concord, Mass.. He was the son of Amos Melvin and Anna Flatt. He died on 11 Feb 1846 in Lowell, Mass. . See Melvin family for children. iv.  Daniel Farrar was born on 13 Jun 1794 in Concord, Mass. and died in 1833 in St. Louis, Mo. . v.  Amos Farrar was born on 5 Mar 1796 in Concord, Mass. and died Jul 1832 in Galena . Amos - Amos Farrer   American Indian trader. Partner of George Davenport & Russell Farnham-traders on the Mississippi River.   Married to Black Thunder (Fox Indian)-had family in Galena. Amos' family died from white men's diseases, except for one daughter. 1831 married Sophia Gear in Galena. Sophia raised Amos' Indian daughter, who died in 1855. They had one daughter, who died at 7. Sophia Gear Farrar was born in 1800. Died in Galena in 1883. I own building which houses Amos' warehouse. He converted it to his home in 1831...I have done research on all users of this building...upright timbered structure in Galena Historic District. Two letters of Amos' from 1820 and 1821 in Yale Library. Also have records from his trading post, (Original ledger at Agustana College, Rock Island Ill.)   email from Marilyn Johnson, Gelena, Ill. Aug 2007) vi.  Silas Farrar was born on 5 Mar 1796. Silas - married Anne Gage and died at Charlestown, leaving two daughters.
