Arthur Ervots - was born about 1560. Arthur married Margaret Lortis on 30 Apr 1581 in Watford. (Sources: - 1) Arthur - was one of three brothers who founded the Evarts line. The other two were John Evatte and Thomas Evaiyet. William Evarts - was born in 1569/1570 in Tortworth, Gloucestershire, England and died in Hertfordshire, England . He was the son of Arthur Ervots and Margaret Lortis. William married Sarah Everhard in 1593. Sarah was born about 1574 in Hertford, England. She died in Hertford, England . Sarah - inherited an interest in the Everhard estate of Hertfordshire. The Everhards were closely connected by marriage with the famous Hicks family who bore coats of arms and descended from Sir Ellis Hicks who was Knighted by Edward the Black Prince at the battle of Poictiers, Sept. 19, 1356. John Evarts - was born in 1601 in Hertfordshire, England and died on 9 May 1669 in Guilford, NewHaven, CT . He was the son of William Evarts and Sarah Everhard. John married Elizabeth Heyden on 5 Nov 1626 in Watford, England. Elizabeth was born about 1614 in Concord, MA. She died Jan 1683 in Guilford, NewHaven, CT . Elizabeth - was the widow of Daniel Bradley, whom she married in 1653 at New Haven. Her maiden name may have been Sheaffe but this has not been proven.   Then John married Elizabeth Bradley on 27 May 1663. She died Jan 1683 . Elizabeth - from Genealogical and Family History of the State of Connecticut, Vol. I-IV -record 318 6 William Bradley married (second) Elizabeth - , and had children: 5. Daniel , born, probably, in 1634 , drowned in December, 1653 , while attempting to cross the river; he left no children, and the court divided his property between his brothers and sister, giving William a half-share, because he was only a half-brother. 6. Joshua , born in 1636 . 7. Ellen , married John Alling . 8. Nathan , born in 1638 . 9. Stephen , see forward. These children were probably all born in England , as there is no record of the father in this country. After the death of her husband she brought her younger children with her to America , the elder having earlier joined their half-brother here. Later she removed to Guilford with Nathan and Stephen , and married (second) John Parmlee , of that town, who died November 8, 1659 ; she married (third) May 27, 1663 , John Evarts , of Guilford , who died May 10, 1669 , and she died January, 1683 . John - Iin about 1650 he removed to Guilford, CT where he was an admitted planter.   There is a bit of confusion about which children were born to John in Watford, England, and which after he moved to Concord, Mass about 1637. This genealogy is based on the research of Basil R. Streeten in 1992.;   (I) John Evarts , immigrant ancestor, was born in England and settled early in Concord, Massachusetts , of which he was made a freeman by the general court in March, 1637-38 . He lived there several years and at least two of his children were born there. He removed to Guilford, Connecticut , and took the freeman's oath in Connecticut , February 5, 1651-52 . In 1655 he was defendant in two civil suits, being then a resident of Guilford . He purchased John Mepham 's allotment at Guilford , for twenty-one pounds, July 29, 1651 . In 1667 he was appointed tythingman. He is said to have lived also for a time at New Haven . He died at Guilford May 9, 1669 .   He married (first) Elizabeth - , and (second). May 27, 1663 . Elizabeth , widow of John Parmelee , who died in November, 1688 . Children of first wife: John , born February 29, 1639-40 , mentioned below: Judah , October 27, 1642 , at Concord : Daniel , 1645 ; James , 1648 : Elizabeth , married Peter Abbott , and was murdered by her husband, at Fairfield , for which offence he was tried, convicted and executed, October 16, 1667 .   from: Cutter, William Richard. September 14, 1665 , Mary , daughter of Thomas French . She died in 1668 , and he married (second) Mary , daughter of Alexander Bow , of Middletown , who died April 25, 1700 . James married Lydia Goodrich on 14 Jan 1660 in Guilford, New Haven, CT. Lydia was born about 1644 in Guilford, New Haven, CT. She is the daughter of Richard Goodrich. John married Sarah Crampton on 23 Oct 1688 in Guilford, New Haver, CT. Sarah was born on 17 Dec 1669 in Guilford, New Haven, CT. She is the daughter of Dennis Crampton and Sarah Hall. Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  Sarah Evarts was born on 10 Aug 1689 in Guilford, New Haven, CT. ii.  John Evarts was born on 9 Mar 1692. iii.  Patience Evarts was born on 2 May 1695 in Guilford, New Haven, CT and died on 24 Apr 1770 in Coventry, Conn. . iv.  Jeremiah Evarts was born on 21 May 1697 in Guilford, New Haven, CT. v.  Lydia Evarts was born on 6 Jul 1699 in Guilford, New Haven, CT and died on 5 Nov 1757 in Coventry, CT . Lydia married Silas Long on 28 Sep 1726. Silas was born on 11 Oct 1702 in Woodstock, CT. vi.  Jeremiah (2) Evarts was born May 1702 in E. Guilford, New Haven, CT and died on 14 Sep 1751 in Guilford, New Haven, CT . Jeremiah - married Jerusha Blinn, 6 children. vii.  Josiah Evarts was born on 14 Jul 1705 in E. Guilford, New Haven, CT.

Patience Evarts - was born on 2 May 1695 in Guilford, New Haven, CT and died on 24 Apr 1770 in Coventry, Conn. . She was the daughter of John Evarts and Sarah Crampton. Patience married Benjamin Jones Sr.. Benjamin was born in 1696 in Pascommuck, Conn.. He was the son of Benoni Jones and Hester Ingersoll. He died on 1 Feb 1783 in Coventry, Conn and was buried in Samsfield . Benjamin - Scalped and left for dead in the Pascomunch Massacre May 13, 1704. The only survivor of the family. He barely escaped death which took the lives of his father and two brothers.   After the massacre, when his father and two brothers were killed and his mother taken a captive, he appears to have removed with the Janes family to Coventry, Connecticut. Benjamin Janes, with whom he went, was son of the immigrant William Janes or Jeanes, who was a school teacher at New Haven,   He was a "fence viewer" in 1731, on a commision, also to "call the people to the Hall" in 1731.   His date of death is listed as February 1, 1783, age 87 according to a monument in the Beech Plain Cemetary in Sandisfield, MA.   Then Patience married Daniel Hobart.   Then Patience married Ibrook Tower on 6 Aug 1712. Ibrook was born in Hingham, Mass.. He was the son of John Tower and Margaret Ibrook. He died on 22 Nov 1731 in Cohassset, Mass. . Ibrook - Margaret and Ibrook had 12 children   In addition to agricultural pursuits, he was also a cooper. Patience - - after Benjamin, Patience also married Daniel Hobart and then in 1712, she married Ibrook Tower. Children with Benjamin Jones Sr. See Jones family for children.
