John de Lacy - was born in 1150 in Lincoln, Lincoln, England and died on 11 Oct 1190 in Tyre, Palestine . He was the son of Richard FitzEustace and Aubrey de Lisours. John married Alice de Vere. Alice was born about 1150 in Rycott, Oxfordshire, England. She is the daughter of Roger FitzRichard and Alice de Vere. John - succeded also to the baronies of Halton and Pontefract with the constableship of Chester. He was also lord of Flamborough. Constable of Chester. Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  Baron Roger de Lacy was born about 1171 in Lincoln, Lincoln, England and died in 1212 while living in Pontefract, Yorkshire, England . See #2. below.

Baron Roger de Lacy - was born about 1171 in Lincoln, Lincoln, England and died in 1212 while living in Pontefract, Yorkshire, England . He was the son of John de Lacy and Alice de Vere. Baron Roger married Maud (Mathilde) de Clare. Maud was born about 1180 in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England. She was the daughter of Earl Richard de Clare and Amice Fitzrobert. She died in 1213 . Baron Roger - Baron Halton.   Roger was castellan of Chateau Galliard, located between Paris and Rouen on the Seine at Les Andelys, in Normandy, when Phillip Ii of France laid siege to it in 1203-1204. Richard I of England built Chateau Galliard specifically to defend western Normandy from the French, and the signifigance of the siege is that it determined whether England or France would control Normandy. The French were successful, but Roger de Lacy gave such an heroic account of himself that his story just begs to be told. John de Lacy - was born in 1192 in Lincoln, Lincoln, England and died on 22 Jul 1240 and was buried in Cistercian Abbey of Stanlaw, Cheshire, Eng. . He was the son of Baron Roger de Lacy and Maud (Mathilde) de Clare. John married Margaret de Quincy. Margaret was born in 1208 in Lincoln, Lincoln, England. She was the daughter of Robert de Quincy and Countess Hawise of Chester. She died before 30 Mar 1266 in Clerkwell, Middlesex, England . Margaret - married 2nd, Walter Marhsall, 5th Earl of Pembroke. John - seventh Baron of Halton Castle and hereditary constable of Chester, was one of the earliest Barons to take up arms at the time of Magna Charta. He was also appointed to see that the new statutes were properly carried into effect and observed in the counties of York and Nottingham. He was excommunicated by the Pope. Upon the accession of King Henry III, he joined a party of noblemen and made a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, rendering valuable service at the Siege of Damietta. Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  Maud de Lacy was born on 4 Aug 1222 in Lincoln, Lincoln, England and died before 10 Mar 1288 . Maud married Earl Richard de Clare. Earl Richard was born in 1222. He was the son of Earl of Gloucester Gilbert de Clare and Isabel Marshall. He died on 15 Jul 1262 . See De Claire family for children.
