George was born on 6 Dec 1888 in Hingham, Mass.. He was the son of George Edward Kimball and Alice Tower Howland. He died on 29 Sep 1941 in Flossmoor, Ill . May - She said her sisters would speak Norwegian on the phone when they didn't want the children to know what they were talking about. Julia, Valdine and May all quit school at 8th grade in order to support their brother Arthur through college (Oberlin)   .. May was never really well - she was hospitalized after each child was born with Post Partum Depression. Then had a 'Nervous Breakdown' which eventually caused her to die of Pneumonia in 1933. See Kimball family for children. viii.  Ruth Christofersen was born on 24 Aug 1896 and died in 1958 . Ruth married Benard Slenker. Benard - was from a Baronial German family (The Von Slenker's). He was very tall and thin with a full set of dentures. Ruth - "Aunt Ruth loved all the 'nefoos and nieces' and spoiled them with darling cards on Birthdays, etc. ix.  Rose Christofersen was born on 31 Mar 1885 and died on 31 Mar 1885 . x.  twin boys Christofersen was born on 14 Feb 1902 and died on 14 Feb 1902 .

Valdine Harriett Christofersen - was born on 27 Sep 1881 and died on 11 Dec 1966 in Chicago, Ill . She was the daughter of Christian Christofersen and Josephine Helene Maria Larsen. Valdine married Morris P Petersen. Morris was born in 1878/1879 in Wisconsin. He died in 1978 . Morris - Morris spelled his name with the ON ending, but his cousin Raymond felt that with their Danish and Norwegian background they should spell it with an EN. Census: 1930 Chicago, Cook, Illinois Morris P. Petersen head 51 Wisconsin Denmark Denmark Postal Clerk Valdine Petersen wife 48 Illinois Norway Norway   Raymond A. Petersen son 22 Illinois Wisconsin Illinois Telephone Co. Repair Man Valdine H. Petersen 17 Illinois Wisconsin Illinois     Valdine - Married to a tall, grim Dane named Morris Peterson who had bushy eyebrows. He had a good sense of humor.   Valdine was a soprano with a great big voice. Ray was a self taught piano tuner - build at least three electronic organs. Ray later married a Helen who died in 1978, Ray also died in 1978. Children: i.  Raymond A Petersen Raymond - was a telephone co repair man in 1930. ii.  Valdine Hazel Petersen Valdine - married Vaughn Mason.

Arthur Fridtjof Christofersen - was born on 1 Jun 1886 and died on 30 Oct 1964 . He was the son of Christian Christofersen and Josephine Helene Maria Larsen. Arthur married Julia Maria Rau on 5 Jul 1915. Julia was born in Naperville, Ill.. Julia - Papers of the American Board of Commisioners for Foreign Missions Christofersen, Mrs. A. F., Julia Appointed Missionaries. Missionaries appointed for life service.; Africa, South Africa; Zulu 1915- Arthur - was a missionary to Africa.   He and Julia both graduated from a small Baptist college, Shurtleff, in Alton, IL. It went out of existence and its campus was taken over by Southern Illinois U. He then received his BD from Crozer Seminary in Penn. And later while on furlough attended, and we believe received a MA degree from U of Chicago Divinity School. Papers of the American Board of Commisioners for Foreign Missions Christoferson, Arthur F. Appointed Missionaries. Missionaries appointed for life service.; Africa, South Africa; Zulu 1915- Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  June Rose Christofersen was born on 14 Jun 1916. June - graduated as an art major from Oberlin College and returned to S. Africa to teach at Adams College where she met and married Eric Dahle, third generation Norwegean missionary family in S. A. who was also a teacher at Adams College. They have three children. Karin Dahle b. 8-9-?? graduate of Oberlin College, who married Michael Graham-Jolly and they have a son Anthony Wayne b. 12-27-84; Christopher Dahle, also an Oberlin grad who married Allice Ericksen and who have a son Neil Einar b. 6-6-85; Jennifer Dahle who married Paul Smithymann and they have a daughter Robyn b. 11-13-85 June lives in Durban South Africa. Eric Died I believe in 1999 or 2000 ii.  Beatrice Ruth Christofersen was born on 16 Apr 1918. See #4. below. iii.  Mabel Alice Christofersen was born on 18 Nov 1921. Mabel - graduated from Northcentral College in home economic which she taught at Inanda Seminary, S. Africa. She is now retired and living in Durban, S. Africa in Durban. Christopherson, Mabel Alice.   Associate Missionaries, including Term Workers. Missionaries not appointed for life, but for a specific period. Arthur - graduate of Oberlin College & Chicago Theological Seminary married on 6-27-49 in Auburn, ME to Audrey Lamb b. 10-28-25 a graduate of Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Children:   Lois Marie Christofersen b. 7-13-50 graduate of U of Illinois School of Nursing married to Dennis Huminiak b. 4-21-45 They have two boys: Joseph Arthur Huminiak b. 12-11-77 & Nicholas Aaron Huminiak b. 11-29--82. Lois lives in Chicago Arthur Frederick Christofersen b. 7-7-52 graduate in photograpy from Southern Illinois U lives in Aurora, IL Jon Eric Christofersen b. 6-8-56 graduate of Southern Illinois U Medical School. Married 10-27-84 to Theresa Nyberg b. 5-17-56 who was previously married to a Jerry Lynd with whom they had two sons, Nathan Lynd & Tim Lynd. Jon & Theresa have two children: Jessica Christofersen b. 2-5-86 & Michael Jon Christofersen b. 8-13-88 They live in Batavia, IL Scott Howard Christofersen b. 9-30-69 graduate of Ripon College in Psych and Philosophy now completing a masters degree in counseling from Antioch U in Seattle, WA where he currently lives.   Was a Congregationist Minister. Later ran a retirement home in Glenwood. Has an old farm in Wisconsin for a retirement home.

Beatrice Ruth Christofersen - was born on 16 Apr 1918. She is the daughter of Arthur Fridtjof Christofersen and Julia Maria Rau. Beatrice married Charles Goodrich.   Then Beatrice married Robert M McLaskey in 1959. Robert was born on 22 Feb 1920. He died on 27 Dec 1998 in Mount Vernon, Skagit, Washington . (Sources: - 1) Beatrice -   graduated with a degree in music from Northcentral College, Naperville, IL, married Charles Goodrich a widower with two sons: Charles Howard Goodrich, Jr.b. 1933? Graduate of Oberlin in English, married Leslyn and they have a girl & 4 boys; Jack Goodrich b. 1935? married to Marcia Frye and they have two girls and two boys.   Beatrice & Charles had three boys:   Donald (Goodrich) Mclaskey b. 2-2-50 married to Susan Hill and their children are Gregory Christofer Howard & Anna Kathleen Howard b. 12-10-87.   Steven Earl (Goodrich) Mclaskey b. 5-24-53 married to Susan Riley. William (Bill) Henry (Goodrich) Mclaskey who is single.   Bea lives in Mt Vernon, Washington.   She married Robert McLaskey in 1959 at a wedding in the Sandwich, IL church where her brother Arthur Christofersen was serving at the time and officiated the wedding. Children with Charles Goodrich i.  Steven Earl Goodrich McLaskey was born on 24 May 1953. Steven married Susan Riley. Steven - email from Becky Spooner - Aug 2008   One of our “cousins” is a professor at Maharishi University! His name is Steve McLaskey. I looked him up on the university’s website and it says he is the Director of M.U.M. Organic Farms.   He is the son of Beatrice Christofersen McLaskey.   (Our mother’s cousin Arthur Wilbur Christofersen (Bea’s brother) told me about this.) Maharishi International University   Assistant Professor of Biology and Agriculture   B.S. Maharishi International University, 1989   M.S., Ph.D., Cornell University, 1994, 1997   Steve McLaskey leads the University’s undergraduate program in sustainable agriculture. He manages the organic vegetable garden and permaculture fruit orchard that are used as outdoor laboratories. His efforts are largely responsible for bringing organic food to the campus dining halls and making the University’s food service a model for such large universities as Yale and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Ruth Gregerson, R.N.   (Papers of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions: Missionary Index) Howard - gradulate of Wabash College and U of Illinois Medical School. Howard worked in McCord Hospital, Durban, S. Africa for 10 years & was medical super the last two. Now retired living in Anacortes, WA. Christopherson, Howard Rau.   Associate Missionaries, including Term Workers. Missionaries not appointed for life, but for a specific period. Paul - married to Nancy Derringer with whom he had two children - Dianna Christofersen b. 1-29-74 and Christian Christofersen b. 11-23-75. Paul & Nancy divorced. He then married Katherine Cochrine, a lawyer and English instructor at Univ. of Chicago. They live in Northern Indiana, and they have two children: Sarah Ruth Christofersen b. 9-19-89 & Aubrey Dean Christofersen b. 1-29-97; iii.  Mark Rau Christofersen was born on 12 May 1953. Mark - A pediatric orthopaedic surgeon in Nashville Tennessee. Married Bette Burton and they have two children Charles Burton Christofersen b. 11-18-1989 (adopted) & Clair Lynn Christofersen b. 6-8-1990. iv.  Lynn Marie Christofersen was born on 15 Nov 1955. Lynn - Married Jon Metzger. Runs Whispering winds wind chime factory in Anacortes Washington. v.  Karen Ruth Christofersen was born on 12 Jan 1963. Karen - A school teacher in Minneapolis Minnesota. Changed name to Karen Ruth.
