Jefferson married Priscilla Fultz on 20 Apr 1843 in Claiborne, Tennessee. Priscilla was born on 4 Mar 1820 in Tennessee. She died on 27 Jun 1907 in Claiborne, Tennessee . He and Pricilla are on a hill. Jefferson's father George Washington and Amanda are in the DeBusk Cemetery. The road to the DeBusk Cemetery is just past the Cline Shop site--my grandfather. Gracie Cheek was my grandmother.   The Cheek tree may be: James, son of James, son of Robert, son of Richard, son of Richard. Most of my research is from the computer. In Claiborne County, Tennessee: Pictorial History, 1801-2001 there's Unalee Cheek on page 67, on page 152 William Newton Vansel married Mollie Cheek, mamaw's sister. Nelson - Nelson Cheek b. 1827 in TN - died 13 April 1863 in Vicksburg, MS. (Civil War death) Sometime between 1856 and 1859 the family moved to Dent Co., MO Co D 32nd MO Reg, 56/1 Pvt, Grave Section: H-122 Conflicting dates of death, may also have died: 12 May 1863 vii.  Robert Cheek was born in 1828 in Claiborne County, Tennessee and died before 1900 in Clay County Ky . viii.  James Cheek , Jr was born about 1835 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. James Cheek , Jr - was born about 1835 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. He is the son of James Cheek and Jane Cowan. James married Mary A Cox on 26 Jun 1863 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. Newton Irvin Cheek - was born on 29 Mar 1874 in Bell Co., Kentucky and died on 12 Nov 1940 . He was the son of James Cheek , Jr and Mary A Cox. Newton married Sarah Hoskins on 9 Jun 1896 in Laurel Co. KY. Sarah was born May 1878 in Leslie County, Kentucky. Henry Tolliver Cheek - was born on 13 Feb 1904 in Laurel Co., Ky. He is the son of Newton Irvin Cheek and Sarah Hoskins. Henry married Minnie May Taylor on 4 Oct 1927 in Laurel Co. KY. Minnie was born on 11 Dec 1908 in Laurel Co. KY. She was the daughter of William Taylor , Jr. and Rebecca L. Jones. She died on 9 Dec 1969 . (Sources: - 4) Henry - In 1930, lived with his father in law, Bill Taylor. Adjoining farms were owned by Floyd Cheek and his wife Mary, and Roscoe Taylor and his wife Simmie. Census: 1930 Laurel Co, Ky Bill Taylor head 52 Kentucky Kentucky Kentucky Farmer Henry Cheek son in law 25 Kentucky Kentucky Kentucky Laborer Minnie Cheek daughter 21 Kentucky Kentucky Kentucky none Kathlane Cheek grand daughter Kentucky Kentucky Kentucky none   About my Grandpa Henry - by Becky Scott   The family stories are that he left Kentucky to escape threats on his life as the result of a murder trial in which he testified for the prosecution. He told me about his adventures running a still with his father-in-law in Indiana in Brown County. It was the terrible time of the depression and they were nearly starving working as share croppers.   The still helped them survive. Grandpa told me about one of his favorite customers, a gentleman from the "city" who came to visit his cousin on the next ridge. He came over and purchased moonshine, visited with the family and were well liked by my grandparents. Grandpa told me that the gentleman would at times have supper or a cup of coffee with them. He was fond oftheir daughter (my mother) Kathleen who was very small for her age, he bounced her on his knee and played with her. Until the day she died, my mother would become very irritated with me when I reminded her that she was a "Dillinger Babe," for the "gentleman" was John Dillinger! 5.	Kathleen Eual Cheek - was born on 17 Jun 1928. She is the daughter of Henry Tolliver Cheek and Minnie May Taylor. Kathleen married Mr. Scott. Kathleen - Becky Scott is her oldest daughter. (Sources: - 6) Children: i.  Rebecca D. "Becky" Scott ii.  Patty Scott

Bill Eugene Cheek - was born on 26 Jul 1932 in Brown Co., Indiana. He is the son of Henry Tolliver Cheek and Minnie May Taylor. Bill married Beverly Davis. Beverly was born on 27 Jul 1939 in Michigan. She is the daughter of Charles Masley Davis and Mary Elizabeth Rodgers. Bill - When I met with Bill in 2008, he was spry and told stories about his family, John Dillinger, etc. He tells of the time he took his dad to visit the Dillinger Museum. His dad was dissapointed and said "It just goes to show how much the media can get things wrong." He also said "Grandpa Taylor did make moonshine - some of the best in the County."(Al Hart Jr.) Children: (Quick Family Chart) i.  Valerie Cheek was born on 13 Oct 1957 in Seymour, Indiana. Valerie married Lynn Edwin Phippen. Lynn was born on 12 Jun 1950 in Prescott, AZ. He is the son of George Albert Phippen. See Phippen family for children.
