John Bourne - was born in 1708 in Smutty Nose Is, Isle of Shoals and died on 17 Jul 1788 in Wells, Maine .
John married Mary Cousins on 8 Nov 1727 in Wells, Maine. Mary was born about 1707. She was the daughter of John Cousins and Abigail Cloyes. She died on 12 Aug 1776 in Wells, Maine . Then John married Mary Oct 1777. She died on 29 May 1794 in Portsmouth Nh . Mary - Mary was used to luxuries which John BOURNE could not provide. After his assets were depleted, she returned to Portsmouth. John - removed to Kittery Maine at the end of the Queen Anne's War (1702-13). In shipbuilding for 50 years, he built many ships on the Kennebunk, Mousam and Webhannat Rivers. His first ship, 80 tons, was the first build on the Kennebunk. At the launching day a heifer was roasted for the many spectators from miles around. The industry which was to make Kennebunk famous was also launched that day. John had an iron will, once made up, but he was still mild and gentle and loved children. In old age he climbed a tree for apples.

Isaac Bourne - was born about 1753 in Wells, York Co., Maine and died on 2 Mar 1829 in Wells, York Co., Maine .
