He died on 20 Jul 1031 in Melun, France .   Then Princess Rosela married Count Arnulph II of Flanders. Count Arnulph was born about 0941 in Flanders, France. He was the son of Count Badouin III of Flanders and Princess Mathilde of Saxony. He died on 30 Mar 0987 . Princess Rosela - was the first wife of Robert Ii. Blanche married King Louis VIII "Le Lion" of France. King Louis was born in 1187. He was the son of King Philip II of France. He died in 1226 . Blanche - When Louis died he made Blanche Regent and guardian of their children. Louis Ix was then 12 and Blanche ruled France alone from 1226 to 1234; dealing successfully both with a coalition of the powerful barons in 1226 - she rode into battle, dressed in white on a white horse, at the head of her troops - and with the attacks of Henry III in 1230; she was less successful with the student disturbances in Paris, which caused the university to leave the city from 1229 to 1233. She made clever alliances and expanded her territory, gaining Blois, Chartres and Sancerre by agreement with her ally Thibaut of Champagne, and Toulouse and Provence through skilful marriage treaties. A forceful character, she retained a powerful influence over Louis IX ('Saint Louis') after he came to the throne in 1236, with regard to both state affairs and religion. Her second regency lasted from 1248, when Louis set out (against her will) on a crusade, until her death four years later. With her third son, Alphonse, she maintained peace at home, despite the depletion of the country necessary to support the extravagant crusade, and negotiated personally for Louis' release after the battle of El Mansurah. King Fernando III "The Saint" of Castile and Leon - was born on 5/10 Aug 1201 in Leon, Leon, Spain and died on 30 May 1252 in Sevilla, Sevilla, Spain . He was the son of King Alfonso IX Fernandez of Leon and Castile and Queen Berengeula of Castile. King Fernando married Jeanne de Dammartin in 1237 in Burgos, Burgos, spain. Jeanne was born about 1216 in Dammartin, France. She was the daughter of Count Simon II de Dammartin and Countess Marie of Ponthieu & Montreuil. She died on 15 Mar 1279 in Abbeville, France . King Fernando - In 1217 Ferdinand became King of Castile, which crown his mother renounced in his favour, and in 1230 he succeeded to the crown of Leon, though not without civil strife, since many were opposed to the union of the two kingdoms. He took as his counsellors the wisest men in the State, saw to the strict administration of justice, and took the greatest care not to overburden his subjects with taxation, fearing, as he said, the curse of one poor woman more than a whole army of Saracens.   The greatest joys of his life were the conquests of Cordova (1236) and Seville (1248). He turned the great mosques of these places into cathedrals, dedicating them to the Blessed Virgin. He watched over the conduct of his soldiers, confiding more in their virtue than in their valour, fasted strictly himself, wore a rough hairshirt, and often spent his nights in prayer, especially before battles.
